QUESTIONS?

Whether it’s your first appointment or your 100th, it’s totally normal to have questions or even feel a bit nervous about your upcoming appointment.

Below I’ve listed some of the top FAQs I’ve received over the years from clients.

If you think of one that isn’t on this list, I’m always here for help just send me a message!

  • HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY HAIR TO GROW BACK?
Everyone’s body is different in this regard. On average I would say most people start to see new hair growth within 7-12 days.
  • HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO COME GET WAXED?
Body hair is typically ready to be waxed with 4 weeks of growth. Facial hair is typically ready to be waxed with 2-4 weeks of growth.
  • WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?
I exclusively use hard wax for all services.
  • WILL MY HAIR THIN OUT WITH WAXING?
Yes! This is one of my favorite perks of getting waxed. If you come consistently to appointments, you will see thinner hair and less regrowth.
  • SHOULD I EXFOLIATE BEFORE MY WAX?
Yes! Lightly exfoliating 24–48 hours before your appointment helps remove dead skin cells and ensures a smoother waxing experience. Avoid over-exfoliating, as this can irritate your skin.
  • DOES WAXING HURT?
In a one word answer–yes. Although it sounds crazy, the more you get waxed the less it does hurt over time. Pain tolerance is very different for everyone, as well as hair texture and mindset, so everyone has a different opinion on how much it hurts. If you need to take a break or anything in between I don't mind at all!
  • CAN I GET A WAX IF I’M ON MY PERIOD OR PREGNANT?
Totally! While on your period, you’ll need to wear a tampon or cup for me to perform the service. If you’re not comfortable with getting a wax during this time, however, you’re always welcome to reschedule (at least 24 hours in advance) if you’d rather wait. During pregnancy, I will say that some women report heightened sensitivity to Brazilians in particular, but it is still completely tolerable (and totally safe for both mom and baby!)
  • WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER MY WAX?
Avoid hot showers, saunas, sex, swimming, tanning, and heavy sweating for 24–48 hours to prevent irritation.
  • IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO PREPARE FOR THE APPOINTMENT?
I highly recommend exfoliating your skin (remember to be gentle!) at least 24 hours before your appointment. Exfoliation with a washcloth or scrub helps remove any dead skin so I can get every little hair. Take a warm shower about 1 hour before your wax to soften the hairs. However, if your appointment is during the day, a baby wipe will do just fine (especially for a Brazilian!). Be sure to drink plenty of water before your wax – dehydration can make your skin and hair brittle, causing more discomfort. If you’re a bit nervous about the pain, pop an Advil 30 minutes before your appointment.
  • CAN I WAX IF I’M ON MEDICATION?
For prescribed creams like Retin-A or Differin, it is advised that you stop use 7 days prior to your wax and to not resume use until 7 days after your wax. I can not wax you if you're on Accutane. It's very dangerous to wax while on Accutane and a doctor's note will be needed to receive services.
  • WHAT IS A SPRAY TAN?
A spray tan is a sunless tanning treatment where a fine mist of tanning solution is applied to your skin to create a tan without UV exposure in an airbrush technique.
  • HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY SPRAY TAN?
To get the best results for your spray tan, stay hydrated and moisturize leading up to your appointment, but avoid moisturizing after your prep shower. Exfoliating is crucial beforehand—it helps create an even canvas and ensures your tan lasts longer. Make sure to remove any leftover tan. Shower, shave, and exfoliate the night before your appointment no later than no later than 6-12 hours prior. Showers can leave soap residue on your skin, and shaving or hot water can open pores and leave unwanted moisture, causing issues with the development of your tan. Use a gel-based soap instead of a creamy, emollient-rich wash, and avoid razors with moisture strips. Do NOT apply deodorants, lotions, body oils, or makeup before your appointment. Leave all products off after your prep shower. Waxing, manicures, pedicures, and other beauty services should be done at least 24 hours before your spray tan. Spray tanning should always be the final step in your beauty routine. Avoid using Dove or Olay products before or after your tan.
  • WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?
I recommend getting your spray tan 24-48 hours before an event.
  • WHAT DO I WEAR TO MY APPOINTMENT?
After the application, I recommend everyone to wear loose clothing, black is best, and flip-flop type shoes. If it is raining/snowing when you come in for your appointment, you should wear a full shoe and don’t forget your umbrella!
  • WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY APPOINTMENT?
You should expect to be with us for approximately 20 - 30 minutes. Upon arrival I will help you choose what shade of bronze is best for you. The spray tanning session itself will only take about 10 minutes. After your session you will see an immediate color, however this is just a cosmetic bronzer and has very little to do with your actual tanning results.
  • WILL I TURN ORANGE?
No! Our solutions have shades for every skin tone and in your consultation we will go over the perfect rinse time for you to avoid any of the dreaded shades of orange.
  • WHAT DO I DO AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?
This is your time to chill out! Once your spray tanning session is complete you will want to refrain from getting wet or sweating until your first rinse. Do not touch your body with the palms of your hands while bronzer layer is still on. Rinse time is based on desired color. If you choose to sleep in your tan prior to showering make sure you sleep in long loose fitted clothing to avoid skin to skin contact. Sleep with the air or fan on to avoid sweating.
  • WHAT DO I DO WHEN IT’S TIME TO RINSE?
Rinse at the time we discussed during your session without soap. Cold or lukewarm water is best. Use the palm of your hand to glide off all bronzer from your body until the water is clear. Refrain from using any type of loofa because they tend to be too abrasive for a new tan. You will look light as your tan is not fully developed. Always pat dry, never rub. Soap shower can be taken 12 - 24 hours post spray tan session. Use a pH balancing body wash or a fragrance free gel based wash. Refrain from bar soaps. Moisturize 2x a day for the best looking results!
  • HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY SPRAY TAN?
When you have a spray tan you should avoid bar soaps, exfoliants and products not designed for use with a spray tan. Stay hydrated. Avoid excessive sweating or soaking in water for long periods of time as this will cause your tan to fade quickly and unevenly.
  • CAN I GET A SPRAY TAN IF I RECENTLY HAD A SUNBURN?
Unfortunately no, sunburns and spray tans do not mix. If you have a recent sunburn I would not recommend getting a spray tan until your skin has completely healed and all peeling has gone away to ensure the best results possible.
  • WILL THE SPRAY TAN STAIN MY CLOTHES OR SHEETS?
The bronzer in the solution may transfer to clothing or bedding before your first rinse, but it’s water-soluble and washes out of most fabrics. Wear loose, dark clothing to minimize staining.

  • WHAT IS YOUR LATE POLICY?
The designated late window is 10 minutes. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, we may need to adjust your service to fit within the remaining time. In some cases, if I am booked back to back, your appointment may need to be rescheduled, and a late fee of 50% of your total service cost will apply.
  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
